About the course
Overview
Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
This includes providing sufficient information, instruction and training to employees to allow them to work in a way that does not put themselves or others at risk. This course has been specifically designed to provide candidates with a basic introduction to workplace health and safety. It is suitable for all employees working in a range of environments, as well as employees returning to work or entering work for the first time. With all subjects covered in just 4 hours, this regulated and nationally recognised qualification is ideal for providing employees with a basic understanding of workplace health and safety whilst helping employers to fulfil their legal duties.
Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
Any employee who requires a greater understanding of health and safety issues and the role that everyone plays in maintaining a safe working environment. Also, a nationally recognised qualification is the ideal way for organisations to improve health & safety awareness and ensure legislation requirements are met.
Level 3 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
This regulated qualification provides progression from the Level 2 Award and is intended principally for those who work in a supervisory or managerial role. Individuals gaining this qualification will gain a wide range of knowledge of health and safety law, the hazards present in a workplace and how to implement effective and necessary controls. Learners will also be equipped with the skills necessary for the effective supervision of staff. It also focuses on the importance of the health and safety culture of a business, which is an invaluable resource for those taking the qualification.
Abrasive Wheels Training
In this half-day training, attendees gain in-depth knowledge about safety measures for abrasive wheels, starting with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 1998) and its Approved Code of Practice. The course highlights potential hazards and associated risks, and the importance of wheel marking systems, proper storage, handling, and transportation. Attendees will learn about wheel components, assembly, and balancing, alongside maintaining wheel performance. The session wraps up with guidelines on machine adjustments and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
